Role Purpose Statement:

The Financial Institutions Department (FI) is responsible for creating and maintaining business relationships with WING Bank’s financial institutions clients which include insurance companies, banks, NBFIs, MFIs and other financial firms. WING Bank FI team targets to position itself as an essential FI partner providing transactional banking, treasury & capital markets, and derivatives & hedging to Financial Institution clients. Our FI bankers act as the gateway for the latest banking products and services required by our counterparties in Cambodia.

 

We seek a FI banker to provide leadership, together with product partners, for the creation and replication of innovative business, technology and risk management solutions in response to our client or industry need.

Job Descriptions

  • To lead the Financial Institutions Department in developing effective business strategies to achieve business targets set by Management.
  • To solicit transaction banking business and lead the teams to achieve the business targets for the department
  • Financial Institution Management: Managing major financial institutions in the respective regions/business line, monitoring the on-boarding process and conducting regular business review with global banks and other financial institutions. Research on partners’ cash, settlement and FX capabilities, and select the most favorable institutions for business cooperation. Supporting FI team to improve the service level of the banks.
  • Research on the business model and compliance policy of oversea funds management practice in local market. Daily work includes but not limited to oversea treasury management, local banks contact, fund management and account management. Preparation of RFP on the competitiveness of FX, settlement and other fund-related business offerings across different regions.
  • Conduct research on the latest development of market infrastructure. Manage the various projects for the deliverables and implementation. Manage and ensure the ongoing requirement of banks for existing business. Manage the risk of counterparties and establish mechanism to diversify the risk of fund management among institutions.
  • To manage counterparties risks for the Bank and ensure the credit risk profiles are of high standard.
  • To ensure all correspondent banks of the Bank Group are in good compliance order.
  • Acts as point of contact for establishing mutual banking facilities with other banking counterparties. Banking counterparties include offshore foreign banks, representative offices of foreign banks, onshore foreign banks, international development banks and local banks.
  • To work closely with other departments and to support their business needs in order to accomplish business targets for the Bank.

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications in Business, Finance or Marketing (Bachelor Degree minimum, Master Degree preferred).
  • Prior experience in Financial Institutions or Corporate Banking highly desirable
  • Ability to create and maintain working relationships, especially with partner banks.
  • Ability to network with people of different backgrounds
  • Ability to speak and write functional English. Skills in written business English (emails) are much appreciated. Additional languages besides English are highly valued.
  • In-depth knowledge on global banks’ settlement and FX products, with relevant project experience preferred. Understand international fund settlement and clearing business, familiar with the operation and business model of cross-border payment, with FX and treasury management project experience in large multinational companies preferred; Knowledge on overseas payment and cross-border funds related compliance policies.
  • Fluent in English, strong communication skills, certain level of knowledge on financial accounting.
  • Abilities to work under pressure and willing to travel.
