Job Summary

The International Remittance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing international remittance operations to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant cross-border payment services. The role drives business growth, manages relationships with correspondent banks and remittance partners, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and leads the remittance team to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily international remittance operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor inbound and outbound cross-border payment activities through SWIFT, money transfer operators, and other payment platforms.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, including AML, KYC, Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and sanctions requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes impacting international remittance services and implement necessary updates.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments and strengthen internal controls to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Liaise with compliance, audit, and regulatory authorities during reviews and inspections.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow international remittance volumes and market share.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to drive business growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in banking, payment services, remittance operations, or international transaction management.
  • Proven experience managing international remittance products, SWIFT transactions, correspondent banking, or cross-border payment operations.
  • Strong understanding of: international remittance and cross-border payment systems, SWIFTS message standards, etc. 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Additional languages relevant to key remittance corridors are an advantage.
