Wing Bank, one of Cambodia’s fastest growing digital banks, has been awarded the Gold Level Client Protection Certification by Micro Finanza Rating (MFR), the highest recognition under the international framework for responsible financial services.
The assessment confirms 100% compliance with the global Client Protection Standards, placing Wing Bank among a select group of emerging market institutions meeting rigorous international criteria for fair treatment, transparent pricing, data protection, and responsible lending.
MFR, a leading global rater specializing in sustainable and inclusive finance, operates in more than 110 countries and holds over 70% of the specialized rating agency market. Its validation strengthens Cambodia’s financial sector credibility and demonstrates that local institutions can meet global standards for ethical and responsible banking.
Wing Bank also received 100% compliance under the KH Code of Conduct Assessment, the national standard issued by the Association of Banks in Cambodia.
Together, these achievements reinforce Wing Bank’s position as a leader in responsible finance and consumer protection.
From its origins as a mobile payment provider, Wing Bank has grown into a full service commercial bank serving millions nationwide. Its rapid evolution reflects the broader modernization of Cambodia’s financial landscape and growing interest from regional investors and development partners.
Dr. Dmytro Kolechko, CEO of Wing Bank, said the certification is a strong endorsement of the bank’s governance and customer protection systems.
“Gold Level Certification is independent validation of how we run the bank — with clear standards, strong governance, and customer first controls,” he said.
“It confirms our full alignment with international client protection requirements and reflects our commitment to responsible growth built on transparency and accountability.”
For Cambodian customers, the certification ensures that Wing Bank’s products are clearly communicated, responsibly designed, and supported by strong data protection systems and accessible complaint resolution channels.
For investors and development finance institutions, the certification provides objective assurance that customer related risks are being actively mitigated. This strengthens due diligence processes and supports responsible investment.
International trade partners and correspondent banks also benefit, as the certification signals disciplined governance, strengthened cybersecurity, transparent operations, and robust risk management frameworks — capabilities increasingly important in cross border banking across ASEAN.
Wing Bank’s ecosystem now includes nearly 30 branches, over 12,000 agents, close to 200 Wing Master Agents, and a digital platform supporting more than 200,000 merchants. The bank’s mobile app delivers an expanding range of financial services, driving greater financial inclusion in both urban and rural areas.
The bank continues to enhance cybersecurity through multi factor authentication, data encryption, real time threat monitoring, and incident response readiness. Its systems align with global standards such as SWIFT CSP and PCI DSS, which are essential for secure international payments and card operations.
