Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc has earned international recognition at The Digital Banker’s 2025 Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards for its efforts in expanding financial inclusion and transforming the retail banking experience in Cambodia.

As one of the country’s leading digital banks, Wing Bank has worked to make financial services more accessible to people everywhere — from busy city centers to the most remote communities.

“This recognition reflects our strong delivery of making accessible and convenient banking to EVERY Cambodian,” said Dr. Dmytro Kolechko, CEO of Wing Bank. “Every action we make — from eliminating cash-out fees to expanding our agent network — is designed to make banking simpler, fairer, and more empowering for everyone, no matter where they live.”

The Digital Banker, a leading Singapore-based financial publication, hosted the Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards on 23 October to honor institutions transforming banking through innovation and customer-centric excellence.

One of the most meaningful steps the bank took this year was removing cash-out fees for customers. This change means people can send money to their families and withdraw funds without any incurring fee charges, making financial transactions more affordable for everyone, even in remote villages.

With a growing network of over 12,000 Wing Bank Agents nationwide, the bank has brought convenient, community-based financial services closer to where people live and work.

Wing Bank has also focused on helping Cambodians to have financial stability through savings.  Its Savings Account offers interest rates of up to 3% annually while allowing account holders to use their money for daily needs. Meanwhile, the Save-for-a-Goal Account provides up to 5% annual interest rate, allowing customers to set personalized savings goals.

These initiatives strongly support the goal of Cambodia’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2019–2025, which aims to foster the use of formal financial services from 59% to 70% by 2025, while reducing the financial exclusion rate among women from 27% to 13%. By promoting savings, expanding access, and empowering consumers, Wing Bank is helping turn these policy ambitions into reality.

The global recognition marks another milestone for the bank and another testament to Cambodia’s efforts to embrace innovation and inclusive growth in the financial sector.
