Wing Bank celebrates International Children’s Day by bringing joy to nearly 300 children at Sangkrouscheat Primary School in Kampot Province, contributing a total of KHR 32,460,000 in school supplies and essential facilities to help create a safer, more encouraging learning environment for children in the community.

Located about 50 kilometres from Kampot town, Sangkrouscheat Primary School, established since 1979, serves both primary and kindergarten students in the local community. Like many rural schools, it faces daily challenges in maintaining facilities that support effective learning, student wellbeing, and equal access to a positive education environment.

“Children learn best when they feel happy, safe and supported,” said Sheanghai Lao, Chief People & Culture Officer. “Through this Children’s Day initiative, we aim not only to bring joy but also to improve the school environment in a meaningful way. We hope to inspire students to stay healthy, study hard, enjoy learning every day, and believe in the opportunities that education can bring to their future.”

To address the school’s needs, Wing Bank provided essential facilities including a clean-water storage tank, shaded seating areas, solar lights and televisions to support classroom engagement. The school grounds were improved with gravel filling to reduce mud during the rainy season, while restroom facilities were repaired and repainted to enhance sanitation, safety and comfort.

Alongside infrastructure enhancements, Wing Bank provided essential learning materials to students, ensuring they are equipped with the basic tools needed for their daily studies, helping remove small barriers to learning and inspiring students to focus on their studies.

Wing Bank employees also spent time engaging with students through friendly interactions and simple activities, making the Children’s Day celebration both fun and meaningful.

Phan Nheam, Principal of Sangkrouscheat Primary School, said, “On behalf of our school, I sincerely thank Wing Bank and its employees for their generosity and care. These donations will help improve our learning environment and provide a better place for children to learn, play and grow every day.”

This Children’s Day initiative reflects Wing Bank’s continued commitment to supporting education, child wellbeing and community development across Cambodia, helping to build a stronger foundation where children can learn with confidence and grow toward a brighter future.
