Phnom Penh, 4 December 2023 – Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc has partnered with the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) to provide users with the benefit of processing payments for customs duties and other import-export fees at no additional cost through Wing Bank.

Effective from 4th December 2023, this strategic collaboration aims to stimulate the growth of the business community and drive the modernization of customs procedures in Cambodia through digital innovation.

As a key department under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the GDCE plays a pivotal role in collecting export-import taxes in the country. Wing Bank, one of the fastest-growing digital banks in Cambodia, has been a trusted partner of GDCE, facilitating the payment process for customs duty obligations and setting new industry standards for efficiency and customer convenience.

Han Peng Kwang, CEO of Wing Bank, said that the initiative aims to propel the customs system towards greater efficiency and digital advancement, aligning seamlessly with the government’s vision of a digital economy. This vision seeks to enable businesses to operate seamlessly and conveniently while contributing significantly to the country’s overall economic development.

“By providing a streamlined and cost-free solution for customs duty payments, we help save time and effort for business people so that they can concentrate on growing their businesses,” he emphasized. “This allows our users to experience exceptional convenience, utilizing multiple channels to settle their customs duty obligations efficiently to a great extent.”

Wing Bank users now have a range of seamless options to settle customs duties, including the user-friendly Wing Bank App and its iBanking portal, saving them valuable time and eliminating the need to visit the ministry physically.

Furthermore, Wing Bank users can easily utilize online payments on the GDCE website. From there, they can navigate to the E-payment section, initiate the process, review details and choose Wing Bank as their preferred method of payment.

Users can also opt for over-the-counter payments at any Wing Bank branch, conveniently located across 19 branches in Phnom Penh and various provinces. Meanwhile, at any Tax Collection and Public Service counters, users can present their customs documents and input the 12-digit Advice number to process the payment. By filling out the required bank operation documents and informing the teller about their intention to make a bill payment for GDCE, customers can easily complete the transaction. It is recommended that customers double-check the payment slip for accuracy and peace of mind before leaving.

Beyond the cost-free customs duties’ solution, Wing Bank provides a wide range of innovative financial services and products, including Wing Bank’s Escrow Account service that secures business transactions, while the zero-fee Wingbiz+ payroll solution, among other features, delivers comprehensive support for individuals and businesses, fostering growth across the country.
