Phnom Penh, December 21, 2018: Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank was awarded “Best Non-Cash Transaction Service 2018” during the 2nd edition of the annual Cambodia Outstanding Telecom & FinTech Awards 2018 “Cambodian – CHOICE” presented by International Data Group (IDG ASEAN), according to a press release recently published by IDG ASEAN.

“Wing (Cambodia) Ltd. Specialised Bank as “Best Non-Cash Transaction Service 2018” During the recent years, Wing has been constantly providing several services and solutions for non-cash payment in Cambodia. Wing has been recognized by the customers for its convenience, secure and popularity,” as written in the release.

The award ceremony was held last week at The Great Duke Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with the participation of the leaders of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the National Bank of Cambodia, the Associations of FinTech and ICT Federations of Cambodia, and representatives of the press and media.

Wing Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jojo Malolos, who was in attendance to accept the awards, said that he feels extremely proud that Wing received this award, just a few months after the bank had been awarded two major awards in Singapore at the 2018 ASEAN Business Awards.

“Wing has committed itself in ensuring that Cambodians enjoy a wealth of convenience and security when it comes to mobile financial services. The award we received today is a testament to our commitment of addressing the needs of the unbanked and under-banked population in the country. In the past, these “under-banked” or “non-banked” Cambodians have faced enormous hurdles and exposed themselves to risk by having to rely on third parties to transport cash to their families.  Wing’s money transfer services have changed all of this, by allowing Cambodians who do not have a traditional bank account to transfer and receive funds electronically, safely and immediately using their mobile phones.” said Mr. Malolos.

Before concluding the award, IDG ASEAN had conducted a customer satisfaction survey on 4G service, internet service, and financial technology, in Cambodia, from July 1st to November 30th of 2018. During this period, IDG ASEAN sent out 40,000 surveys and retained 8,000 successful surveys. 60% of the surveys were conducted online and 40% by direct interview, in the 5 biggest cities of Cambodia (Phnom Penh Capital, Battambang, Prey Veng, Siem Riep, Sihanoukville). The questionnaire includes 7 key topics with a total 18 questions.
