Wing Bank backs Digital Trade Forum to boost e-commerce growth and connect local producers to global markets

Wing Bank has partnered with the Ministry of Commerce to organize the 2nd Cambodia Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo, a key initiative in the government’s efforts to accelerate digital trade, empower SMEs, and connect Cambodian products to international markets.

Held on 12–13 September under the theme “Advancing Cambodia’s Future Through Digital Trade,” the two-day event brought together government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore how e-commerce can enhance competitiveness and expand Cambodia’s export potential.

“E-commerce is no longer just a trend—it’s a powerful tool that connects producers directly to their customers, both locally and globally,” said Bunthe Hor, Deputy CEO of Wing Bank. “We’ve seen how businesses in our ecosystem have transformed through digital platforms, and I believe other SMEs can absolutely do the same.”

“At Wing Bank, we’ve invested heavily in supporting this growth by offering fast, secure, and convenient digital payment solutions that make trading products and services as simple as a few taps on a smart phone. We encourage all local producers—whether you’re a farmer, artisan, or entrepreneur—to embrace this opportunity and take your business online. The future of trade is digital, and it’s open to everyone,” he added.

Cambodia’s e-commerce sector is gaining momentum, according to the E-commerce Report 2024 by Profitence, released earlier this year with support from the Ministry of Commerce and Wing Bank. The report valued the market at USD 1.12 billion in 2024—approximately 4% of GDP—and projected nearly 10% annual growth, reaching USD 1.82 billion by 2029. This growth is being driven by increased smartphone and internet usage, broader adoption of digital payment platforms such as Bakong and KHQR, and a young, tech-savvy population embracing digital commerce.

Wingmall, a key partner of Wing Bank’s digital ecosystem, has been empowering merchants to sell their products and expand their reach to a wider customer base. Today, more than 300,000 products are listed on the Wingmall App, making it a platform that caters to a wide range of customer needs.

Recently, Wingmall launched a new campaign allowing merchants to pay only KHR 100 per month to sell their products and services on the app—making it an affordable gateway for SMEs and micro-entrepreneurs to enter the digital marketplace and connect with a large customer base.

Wing Bank has also introduced instant digital loans and digital installment services, boosting consumer spending power and expanding access to the e-commerce space.

From facilitating digital financial services to pioneering e-commerce innovation, Wing Bank continues to evolve as a one-stop digital solutions provider, offering platforms that empower every segment of Cambodian society—from SMEs and farmers to corporates and consumers—to thrive in the digital economy.
