In a vibrant display of community spirit, over 850 runners, families, and friends gathered at the Peng Houth Eco Park in Beoung Snor for the “Run with Wing for Cambodian Children” marathon. Organized by Wing, this event seamlessly combined fitness and purpose, making a significant impact in supporting the life-saving work of Angkor Hospital for Children.

Mr. Manu Rajan, Division Chief Executive Officer of Wing, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply grateful to all the participants who made this event possible. Their involvement supports the hospital’s operations and drives future initiatives aimed at promoting health, fostering community bonds, and providing critical support for children in need. By taking part in this run, they have combined personal well-being with a shared commitment to a meaningful cause, creating a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of children.”

Recognized as a cornerstone of Cambodia’s healthcare system, Angkor Hospital for Children provides essential treatments to over 100,000 children annually, delivering life-saving care to between 300 and 400 children each day. To honor this vital work, Wing pledged $2.5 for every employee who registered, ultimately raising an impressive $5,000 (equivalent to 20 million Riel) for the hospital.

During the event, the Representative of Angkor Hospital for Children, Mr. Iv Kimsour, Chairperson of the AHC Advisory Group, expressed heartfelt gratitude “we are truly moved by the collective effort shown here today. This contribution will go a long way in ensuring that children receive the care they deserve.”

The marathon was not only a celebration of corporate responsibility and community spirit but also a joyful occasion for families to bond. Mrs. Sidany Hou, a Wing employee, reflected on the experience: “In our busy lives, we often overlook opportunities to connect with family, engage in sports, or contribute to the community. This event allowed me to run and spend the weekend with my family and friends, develop a healthy habit, and contribute to helping sick children.”

Wing has consistently demonstrated unwavering support for Angkor Hospital for Children through various fundraising initiatives, including Bon Pkha Samki. The “Run with Wing” event embodies Wing’s steadfast commitment to driving positive social change and fostering a culture of giving back through impactful programs.

Beyond this event, Wing has long been dedicated to social responsibility, participating in initiatives that promote health and community engagement. These include organizing the Run for Cambodian Children, sponsoring the Angkor Empire Marathon, and supporting charitable events like the Charity Walk 250km Along the Mekong and Happy Football Cambodia Australia, which provides safe football-playing opportunities for underprivileged children in Siem Reap. Additionally, Wing partners with the Boeng Ket Football Club and sponsors the Banker Cycling event organized by the Association of Banks in Cambodia.
