As climate change intensifies and unpredictable weather threatens harvests across the globe, including Cambodia, Wing Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, is stepping forward with a bold new initiative designed to turn crisis into opportunity for the nation’s farmers and to enhance climate-resilient farming in Cambodia. Through a financing program that empowers farmers, agricultural communities, and agribusinesses by offering up to USD 200,000 in collateral-free loans, enabling them to invest in modern Climate-Resilient Agriculture Value Chain initiatives.

The rollout targets five vital agricultural provinces, Prey Veng, Takeo, Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, and Battambang, bringing accessible financing solutions with no hidden fees and competitive interest rates to farming communities. This initiative aims to elevate farmers’ livelihoods by supporting the adoption of modern, climate-resilient agricultural technologies that help reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve storage for processing.

“Cambodia has set clear and ambitious goals for climate resilient agriculture, and achieving them requires strong private sector participation,” said Dr. Dmytro Kolechko, CEO of Wing Bank. “This collateral free financing is our direct contribution to the government’s sustainable agriculture agenda and reflects follows the initiatives of the National Bank of Cambodia’s encouraging more credit to priority sectors such as agriculture.”

He continued, “We want farmers to have accessible capital to adopt green technologies, protect their livelihoods, and secure the nation’s food supply.”

Wing Bank, together with its partners, organized on-ground workshops from 23 to 27 March 2026 across all five provinces to disseminate information on loan application processes and the benefits of adopting climate-appropriate technologies. These include smart irrigation systems, drying and storage solutions, integrated farming, and green or renewable energy technologies designed to support sustainable agriculture and climate resilience. The sessions also provided practical training on climate-smart agriculture, modern farming tools, and sustainable practices, ensuring farmers can fully maximize the benefits of these technologies.

As shifting weather patterns and water shortages increasingly threaten global food security, this financing program provides a crucial buffer for Cambodian agriculture. It also supports the nation’s climate goals, advancing Cambodia’s Third Nationally Determined Contribution target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2035, and reinforcing national priorities in food security and sustainable agriculture.

Together, Wing Bank and the Ministry of Agriculture commit to ensure that Cambodia’s farming communities remain resilient, productive, and prepared for the future.
