Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc recently led more than 250 employees in an effort to promote a cleaner learning environment and strengthen student well-being through hygiene awareness activities focused on healthy daily habits. The initiative also included the donation of gifts and educational materials to over 300 students at Trab Kor Primary School, located about 40 kilometers from Takeo town.

The event was organized to mark National Environmental Sanitation Day under the theme “Clean Habits, Clean Families, Good Environment.” It aimed to instill environmental responsibility among the younger generation while fostering stronger community health and resilience.

“As a financial institution that upholds strong social responsibility, we came not only to clean the environment but also to deliver essential facilities and materials to ensure lasting sanitation and student well-being, said Sheanghai Lao, Chief People & Culture Officer at Wing Bank. Today’s activity reflects Wing Bank’s commitment to further improving sanitation and the quality of education in the community.”

Mr. Sheanghai Lao also expressed his gratitude to local authorities, teachers, and Wing Bank staff who gave up their personal time on a weekend to ensure the event’s success—a gesture that will be remembered for its meaningful contribution to society.

To address the school’s urgent needs, Wing Bank built and donated a new boys’ restroom and installed a large water tank to ensure a safe and reliable supply of clean water. The bank also provided multiple trash bins to reinforce proper waste disposal and equipped the school with fire extinguishers to enhance safety.

In addition to focusing on health, Wing Bank supported modern education by donating two desktop computers and three televisions to help teachers modernize lessons and strengthen research capabilities. Reading benches were also installed under shaded areas to create a pleasant space for students to enjoy books outside the classroom.

To encourage students’ learning efforts, Wing Bank distributed educational materials directly to students, reducing the financial burden on families and inspiring children to develop a greater love for learning. The event also featured interactive hygiene demonstrations—covering proper handwashing, bathing, and toothbrushing—to help prevent disease and promote healthy habits.

Mr. Pa Phon, Principal of Trab Kor Primary School, expressed his deep gratitude to Wing Bank for actively contributing to improved hygiene and education quality through various facilities, especially the new boys’ restroom, which helps reduce congestion and improves student comfort. He also noted that the donation of computer equipment and televisions is a significant contribution that allows teachers to modernize teaching methods and provide students with access to digital knowledge in the community.

Wing Bank firmly believes that improving infrastructure and providing educational resources will create a safe, comfortable learning environment. The bank remains committed to supporting the government and community in promoting environmental protection and education —key pillars of Cambodia’s sustainable development.
