Wing Bank and Authority Foster a Greener Future for the Next Generation

Wing Bank has joined force with local authorities of Khan Saen Sokh and Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Education, Youth and Sport to empower environmental stewardship among Cambodian youth, marking National Arbor Day with tree planting and school improvement initiative at Saen Sokh Primary School.

Held under the theme “Planting Trees for Future Generations,” more than 300 Wing Bank employees joined students in planting rare native saplings—including Kranhoung and Beng—on the school grounds in northwestern Phnom Penh.

The event aimed to foster environmental awareness while enhancing the learning environment for young Cambodians.

“At Wing Bank, we continuously seek ways to make a lasting difference in the communities we serve,” said Hor Bunthe, Deputy CEO of Wing Bank, adding that “By engaging young minds in environmental action, we’re not just planting trees—we’re planting values that will shape tomorrow’s leaders.”

As part of the initiative, Wing Bank contributed approximately $8,000 to upgrade school facilities, including repainting eight buildings, renovating the main gate roof, and improving the sports field with fresh soil. The bank also donated 10 concrete benches and study materials to 172 underprivileged students, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth.

The campaign aligns with the Ministry of Environment’s national goal to plant one million trees annually, part of Cambodia’s broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality and maintain 60% forest cover by 2050.

Wing Bank’s initiative goes beyond green spaces—it cultivates a generation that values sustainability, community, and education. The legacy of this effort will live on in every classroom, every tree, and every child inspired to protect their future.
