The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Wing Bank recently co-hosted the Workshop on Export Requirements and Trade Facilitation to the People’s Republic of China, equipping Cambodian businesses with the knowledge and financial tools needed to tap into China’s rapidly growing market. The event brought together over 100 industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders, offering valuable insights into export procedures, trade facilitation, and tailored financial solutions for international trade.
As Cambodia’s third-largest export partner, China plays a pivotal role in the country’s economic growth. According to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, Cambodian exports to China surged to $1.75 billion in 2024, reflecting an impressive 18.4% year-on-year increase. With China’s immense purchasing power, the workshop served as a timely initiative to help businesses refine their export strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the Chinese market.
Oknha Kouch Pheng, Vice President of the CCC, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that the workshop bridges the gap between regulators and exporters by providing businesses with a clear roadmap for navigating export procedures, documentation, and available resources. He highlighted that this effort is a critical step in helping businesses overcome challenges and expand their market reach. Oknha Kouch Pheng also praised Wing Bank for its instrumental role in driving business growth and strengthening Cambodia’s trade position on the global stage.
The export workshop series will continue throughout 2025, with upcoming sessions focusing on other key trade partners, including South Korea in March, Japan in June, Australia in September, and Canada in December. With over 500 businesses expected to benefit, these events aim to enhance Cambodia’s export ecosystem and boost its global competitiveness.
