Wing Bank donates USD 10,000 to Smile Cambodia for free surgeries for patients with cleft lips, palates, and other facial deformities, giving them beautiful smiles

Wing Bank extends its support with a USD 10,000 contribution to Smile Cambodia, following last week’s four-day surgical mission and Walk for Smile event in Siem Reap. This donation will help fund free reconstructive surgeries for Cambodian patients with cleft lips, palates, and other facial deformities—empowering them to overcome challenges in eating, speaking, and social integration.

“The mouth is such a vital part of the human body, yet children born with cleft lips and palates often face challenges with eating, speaking, and even their confidence,” said Manu Rajan, Division CEO of Wing Bank. “We deeply understand their struggles and remain committed to improving the quality of life for Cambodian children living with these conditions.”

Since 2020, Wing Bank—formerly known as Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank—has been a dedicated partner of Smile Cambodia, helping to raise awareness and promote surgical missions through its nationwide ecosystem. This includes over 11,000 Wing Cash Xpress Agents, branch offices, and other media assets.

Last year, the bank also contributed USD 10,000 to support Smile Cambodia’s mission.

“Smile Cambodia is not just giving children new smiles, but also new hope for a better future,” said Dymtro Kolecho, CEO of Wing Bank. “We are proud to stand with Smile Cambodia in transforming lives. A smile can restore confidence and open doors for a brighter tomorrow.”

Since its founding in 2015, Smile Cambodia has provided free medical care and social empowerment to 5,641patients across the country. Continued support from partners like Wing Bank allows the organization to expand its reach—providing free surgeries, follow-up care, and medical treatments to children in need.

“At Smile Cambodia, we are dedicated to giving children the opportunity to grow up free from the burden of facial deformities,” said Chan Kok Choy, Executive Director of Smile Cambodia. “We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from Wing Bank and our partners. Together, we are bringing hope, health, and confidence to children in need—creating a lasting impact on countless lives.”

In Cambodia, many families still struggle to access information and treatment for these conditions, resulting in unnecessary suffering.

One such case is Hut Chenda, a farmer from Prey Veng province, who traveled 12 hours to Siem Reap last week so his baby daughter could receive surgery.

“My parents felt great sympathy for the granddaughter, who struggles to drink milk and often chokes. Without surgery, she might face shame and distress about her appearance as she grows up, he said. “I am so grateful that she can now receive this free operation, and I look forward to seeing her beautiful smile.”

During last week’s surgical mission, 44 patients underwent successful operations, bringing new hope and brighter futures to their families.
