Cambodian living and working in Japan can now experience greater freedom and peace of mind when sending money back home to their loved ones during the Khmer New Year celebrations and beyond, thanks to a collaborative effort between Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc. and Japan Money Express Co. Ltd (JME).

The strategic partnership, established by a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), combines the strengths of Wing Bank, one of Cambodia’s fastest growing digital banks, and JME, a leading financial institution specializing in international remittance services based in Japan.

This joint initiative aims to increase the remittance options available to Cambodians living and working in Japan, ensuring that they have a reliable, safe, and cost-efficient means of transferring money home, while fostering greater economic cooperation and facilitating seamless transactions between the two countries.

President of Japan Money Express Mr. Ajeeb Gurung, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc. as we extend our remittance services into Cambodia. This strategic collaboration underscores our commitment to bridging financial gaps and facilitating international transactions with ease.”

The signing ceremony, graced by H.E Tuy Ry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan, was deemed an honorable event, symbolizing the significance of this partnership.

Wing Bank, renowned for its innovative financial products and services, provides convenient access to digital solutions that improve the daily lives of every Cambodian. With an extensive network across Cambodia, the bank is well-positioned to serve the needs of its customers.

“Through our collaboration with Japan Money Express, we aim to bridge the gap between nations and empower Cambodian residing and working in Japan to ensure their hard eared money is transferred safely and cost-effectively to support their families back home,” said Mr. Vattanak Phakdey Chhun, Deputy CEO of Wing Bank. “Together, we will drive positive social impact and create a more connected and inclusive financial ecosystem.”

With this partnership, they now have the convenience of visiting any ATM or branch of Japan Money Express to send money through Wing Bank. They have the option to send money directly to their family’s Wing Bank account and receive a smartphone notification upon arrival, or they can choose cash pick-up, where their family will receive an 8-digit code to withdraw at any of the over 11,000 Wing Outlets across Cambodia.

Leveraging advanced technology and robust infrastructure, Japan Money Express and Wing Bank aim to establish new benchmarks in international remittance services, meeting the evolving needs of their customers.
