JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, monitor, and resolve database-related issues; perform changes in production systems.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with technical teams to provide updates on request status.
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments with focus on performance, availability, and reliability.
- Review daily service-related reports (audits, monitoring, backups) to identify and address issues within SLAs.
- Fulfill service requests according to defined SLAs and operational procedures.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and resource management.
- Design and implement database solutions supporting scalability, recoverability, and security.
- Execute data backup, recovery processes, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Provide technical support to the business intelligence team, including report tuning and ETL process support.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access control for production and warehouse databases.
- Monitor and manage batch jobs, command line scripts, SQL execution, and queue processing.
- Maintain compliance with security and audit requirements.
- Ensure synchronization and data consistency between primary data centers and disaster recovery sites.
- Continuously improve and execute database-related processes, procedures, and standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, preferably in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA or in a related role.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, and Oracle RAC.
- Proficient in disaster recovery setup for both RAC and non-RAC environments.
- Experience in capacity planning, database upgrades, migration, space management, and data extraction.
- Exposure to environments like Exadata, RedHat, Windows, and Solaris.
- Strong skills in memory and disk tuning.
- Performance tuning expertise using Statspack, TKPROF, SQL TRACE, and Explain Plan.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools such as OSB, NBU, and SIMPANA.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, stored procedure development, shell scripting, and SQL.
- Experience working with partitioning, materialized views, and analytic functions.
