The Payroll Business Relationship Manager is responsible for managing the bank's payroll services business, focusing on strengthening relationships with existing customers while driving the acquisition of new payroll accounts. This role involves meeting and exceeding specific business objectives.

The Payroll Business Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote and cross-sell the bank’s range of products and services, ensuring seamless payroll solutions for clients while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing payroll clients.
  • Regularly engage with clients to identify opportunities for cross-selling other bank products and services, such as loans, credit cards, and investment products.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients' payroll needs, ensuring all inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular meetings with key accounts to assess their satisfaction with services and identify areas for improvement.
  • Business Development:
  • Focus on acquiring new payroll clients and growing the bank’s payroll portfolio.
  • Target new business from both existing clients and potential clients, ensuring that each payroll account meets business objectives.
  • Promote and sell the bank’s payroll services and solutions, highlighting key benefits such as efficiency, security, and compliance.
  • Cross-Selling Bank Products/Services:
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell the bank's full suite of products, including savings accounts, investment opportunities, credit facilities, insurance, and business loans.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of using the bank for their broader financial needs, aligning solutions to their specific requirements.
  • Market Insights and Strategy:
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes in the payroll and banking sectors.
  • Provide feedback to the bank’s product and strategy teams to help shape future payroll service offerings based on client needs and market demands.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the payroll business against set targets.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key metrics, such as the number of new accounts, growth in deposits, customer satisfaction, and cross-sell success.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of payroll services and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff or payroll specialists within the business unit, fostering teamwork and a culture of excellence.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or payroll solutions, with a focus on client relationship management or business development.
  • Proven track record in meeting sales targets and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong experience in managing payroll services or a similar client-facing role within a bank or financial institution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with banking software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
