Banking Operation

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the focal point for coordinating meetings, discussions, and collaboration with critical stakeholders and management regarding tax operations.
  • Manage and deliver optimal solutions for tax payment complaints and disputes raised by clients, tracking, analysing, and reporting on each case in accordance with internal policies.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence for complaints/disputes and resolution letters/memos to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including governmental agencies (National Treasury and General Department of Taxation (GDT).
  • Verify and monitor daily reports to ensure timely detection, analysis, and reporting of irregularities and abnormalities for proper resolutions and controls.
  • Monitor and manage complex tax issues, including incorrect amounts or account numbers, ensuring accurate resolutions.
  • Identify operational gaps and propose improvement actions to higher management and relevant stakeholders to enhance tax operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external government agencies to improve tax collection processes through over-the-counter (OTC) and digital channels.
  • Support ongoing projects related to tax operations and provide training to frontline staff on tax collection procedures as needed.
  • Promptly escalate critical cases to management and act as a substitute for the head unit/line manager when necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Banking and Finance, Business Management or related fields
  • At least 5-year experience in Banking sector
  • At least 1-year experience in managing tax operation
  • Experience is setting up Tax operation is preferrable
  • Experience in handling the payment of GDT is an added advantage
  • Experience in Teller Operation
  • Experience in development and management of enhancement project for frontline operation
