Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc has joined forces with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) to launch the highly anticipated Season 3 of the ‘Business Sharing Program’. This support aims to assist local businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing them with essential business knowledge and networking opportunities.
“The success of local businesses plays a crucial role in Cambodia’s economic development. Wing Bank is proud to support the Business Sharing Program, actively contributing to the creation of a more vibrant and dynamic business community,” expressed Han Peng Kwang, CEO of Wing Bank.
The Business Sharing Program serves as a platform for business owners to expand their understanding of sustainable business practices and stay informed about the evolving business environment in Cambodia.
These events are designed to help entrepreneurs avoid common mistakes, foster more successful ventures, and stay up to date with government news and policy changes.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Wing Bank for their invaluable support in making the Business Sharing Program a resounding success,” said Oknha Nguon Meng Tech, Director General of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
“Wing Bank’s unwavering commitment to empowering local businesses and SME owners in Cambodia is truly commendable,” he added.
The program spans five provinces, with successful sessions already concluded in Kampong Thom and Sihanoukville in July. Approximately 100 local entrepreneurs attend each session. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for August in Koh Kong, Siem Reap, and Battambang. Each event will address unique topics tailored to the specific needs and interests of local entrepreneurs.
This marks the third season of the CCC’s Business Sharing Program. The first season in 2021 provided participants with essential knowledge to run and sustain businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second season in 2023 focused on improving business operations post-COVID-19.
Wing Bank has a long-standing partnership with CCC and actively supports the organization’s mission to empower Cambodian businesses.
These include the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in 2022, the CCC Gala Dinner in May 2023, presided over by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, a business tour to Battambang province that facilitated the entry of local products into 7-Eleven stores, and the Cambodia-ASEAN Business 2024, among other international events.
According to local media reports, SMEs represent 70% of total employment and approximately 90% of companies in Cambodia, contributing 58% to the country’s GDP.
By empowering local businesses and SMEs with essential knowledge and resources, Wing Bank and CCC are driving the development of a vibrant and resilient business community.
