JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Leadership & Strategy                    

  • Define and execute the annual technology strategy for the Bank's card systems, ensuring alignment with the organization's business objectives and digital transformation roadmap.                    
  • Support business initiatives by providing technical leadership during project planning and execution.                   
  • Ensure adherence to technology standards and operational best practices for card platforms.                    

Card Systems Operations                    

  • Provide overall leadership for the day-to-day operation of production card systems, ensuring maximum availability, reliability, and performance.                    
  • Oversee the support and maintenance of the Card Management System, payment switch, authorization systems, 3-D Secure, HSM infrastructure, cryptographic key management, ATM/POS/e-commerce acquiring platforms, card personalization systems, certificate lifecycle management, and related integration services.                    
  • Ensure that all production services are monitored and supported under defined service-level agreements (SLAs).  

System Availability & Operational Resilience                    

  • Ensure the high availability of mission-critical components of the Card Management System through resilient architecture, redundancy, proactive monitoring, and capacity planning, while maintaining disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) strategies.                    
  • Ensure that transaction routing, failover mechanisms, and message processing are optimized to maximize authorization success rates and minimize latency.                    
    Conduct annual disaster recovery exercises.

Security & Regulatory Compliance                    

  • Ensure continuous compliance with PCI DSS and internal security standards, and ensure that the Card Management System is updated on time for business enhancements and releases mandated by payment schemes and vendors.                    
  • Ensure that effective incident, problem, change, release, and service request management processes are implemented in accordance with internal IT compliance and incident management guidelines.                    
  • Coordinate technology audits and ensure the timely remediation of audit observations and compliance findings.         

Vendor & Third-Party Management                    

  • Manage relationships with relevant vendors, card schemes, and service providers.                    
  • Coordinate vendor support during incidents, upgrades, and technology implementations.                    
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and service-level agreements.              

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.                                    
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.                                    
  • Visa/Mastercard University courses or EMV technical training certifications are an added advantage.                                    
  • Knowledge of switching and ISO messaging, PCI DSS, security, risk, and compliance is expected.                                    
  • A minimum of 10 years of technology delivery experience, including at least 4–5 years in a Senior Manager or higher-level role in technical card system support within the banking industry.                                    
  • A proven track record of delivering and maintaining complex, cross-functional card application programs.                                    
  • Previous experience with the TranzAxis Card Management System, 3-D Secure, the CyberSource payment gateway, and Futurex HSMs would be an added advantage.                                    
  • Experience in budget planning and management, staff management, client management, change, release and transformation management, vendor management, and payment scheme coordination.
