JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements & Product Quality Analysis
- Support the Lead Business Analyst in gathering, analyzing, documenting, and maintaining business and functional requirements.
- Prepare and update user stories, use cases, process flows, business rules, acceptance criteria, meeting notes, and other project documentation.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, backlog refinement sessions, demonstrations, and requirement walkthroughs.
- Clarify open points with relevant stakeholders under the guidance of the Lead Business Analyst.
- Review requirements from the perspective of an end user and tester and identify unclear wording, missing information, inconsistencies, and possible edge cases.
- Maintain traceability among requirements, acceptance criteria, test cases, defects, and delivered functionality.
Routine & Exploratory Product Testing
- Perform routine functional, regression, integration, usability, and user-journey testing of mobile, web, and back-office applications.
- Prepare, maintain, and execute test scenarios and test cases based on approved requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform exploratory testing in addition to executing predefined test cases: actively explore the system, investigate unexpected scenarios, challenge assumptions, and assess the product from the perspective of a real user.
- Identify negative scenarios, unusual user behaviors, boundary conditions, and combinations of actions that may not be covered by documented test cases.
- Ensure that new functionality, defect fixes, and critical existing processes are tested consistently in each relevant release cycle.
- Prepare required test data and verify that test environments are ready for planned testing activities.
- Document test results clearly and retain appropriate evidence of execution.
- Report defects with precise reproduction steps, expected and actual results, supporting evidence, severity, and business impact.
- Retest resolved defects and performed regression testing to confirm that changes have not affected existing functionality.
- Escalate critical defects, testing blockers, and quality concerns promptly to the Senior Business Analyst and project team.
Domain & Regulatory Validation
- Validate business logic, workflows, calculations, controls, and system behaviors against approved business requirements.
- Verify that relevant functionality is consistent with applicable banking, securities, and capital-markets regulations, as interpreted and confirmed by the responsible business, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
- Identify regulatory, operational, or customer-impact risks arising from incomplete, inconsistent, or incorrectly implemented business logic.
- Maintain evidence of domain-validation checks for critical product journeys and regulated processes.
Data, Calculation & Integration Validation
- Verify data directly in relevant databases using SQL queries and compare stored values with information displayed in user interfaces and reports.
- Reconcile financial calculations, balances, interest accruals, fees, transaction values, statuses, and other critical outputs against expected results.
- Validate data consistency and completeness across mobile, web, back-office, database, and external-system layers.
- Perform integration testing and verify that data is transmitted, transformed, processed, and recorded correctly between connected systems.
- Investigate data discrepancies and support developers in identifying their source and confirming resolution.
API Testing
- Test REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools as a core part of routine product testing.
- Validate requests, responses, status codes, authentication, authorization, validation rules, error handling, and data structures.
- Test positive, negative, boundary, and failure scenarios for business-critical APIs.
- Compare API results with database records, user-interface behaviour, business rules, and downstream-system outcomes.
- Maintain reusable API collections, test data, environment configurations, and supporting documentation
Testing Process & Quality Improvement
- Follow the testing routines, quality standards, templates, and controls established by the Senior Business Analyst and outsourced QA expert.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of structured, state-of-the-art testing processes.
- Contribute to test planning, test coverage reviews, defect triage, release-readiness checks, and testing status reporting.
- Identify recurring defects, process gaps, and opportunities to improve requirements or test coverage.
- Support the gradual development of reusable regression test packs and, where appropriate, automated testing routines.
- Maintain accurate testing records, checklists, defect logs, and progress information.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Work closely with and report day-to-day progress, open points, and testing results to the Senior Business Analyst.
- Consult with the outsourced QA expert on testing methodology and apply agreed guidance in daily analysis and testing activities.
- Coordinate requirement clarifications, test scope, dependencies, environments, and test data with developers and relevant project participants.
- Participate in defect triage, explain identified issues clearly, and follow assigned defects through resolution and retesting.
- Support effective knowledge transfer among business stakeholders, developers, internal team members, and external specialists.
- Communicate professionally and provide clear, timely status updates.
